Process Work

Concept Sketches

The client wanted the theme for the 2020 publication to be centered around an anatomical “Vitruvian Man.” Rather than focus on a specific organ, we thought to include different major systems at varying levels of complexity.

Linear Drafts & Revisions

Linear drafts of the body outline, skeleton, arterial system and nervous system were created and composited together. Revisions to ensure accurate anatomical structures and relationships were drafted in consultation with Dr. Anne Agur. Certain elements were simplified to increase visual clarity.

Final Draft and Color Palette

A final color palette was created to resemble an “xray” while using classic colors of yellow for the nerves, and red for the arteries. A dark background was selected to add the greatest contrast.
