About

Hi! I’m Farah.

I am a visual artist from San Francisco interested in the intersection of the arts, sciences and humanities. I’m currently a graphic designer and animator at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).

I completed my Masters of Biomedical Communications (MScBMC) at the University of Toronto where I trained in biomedical visualization, storytelling and communications. I use my interdisciplinary background in academic research and the creative arts to communicate difficult topics to diverse audiences, and solve complex visual problems.

I previously worked with Osso VR, where I crafted anatomically accurate visuals for VR surgical education. In 2021, I concluded my time as the inaugural Artist in Residence at UCSF where I worked on an animated data visualization project “The City is a Body: Systemic Vulnerabilities in the Time of COVID-19.” You can read more about the project through the UCSF library website, and KQED.

In my spare time, you can catch me in the city facilitating figure drawing sessions with Sketchboard Co!
