Process Work

Concept Sketches & Layout

The initial ideas for this piece included hemorrhagic stroke, and including a close up of the patient’s face. The overall layout was blocked out to ensure design clarity. The topic of atherosclerotic ischemic stroke was chosen as the final topic, as well as positioning the patient to show the upper body since stroke affects the body as well.

Linear Drafts

The different components were created individually and composited together. A simple 3D model was created for the occluded vessel to better inform the shape. A tissue cube study was illustrated to better inform the progression of pathogenesis at the cellular level.

Color Renders

An initial version was created with a more neutral and grey color palette. To increase the vibrancy and contrast, an alternate version was created using complimentary purple and warm orange colors.
